Our Process
Personalized Financial Planning Designed to Support Your Journey
At Great Basin Financial Services, you come first. Our seven-step planning process ensures we thoroughly understand your financial needs and values, enabling us to design a personalized plan to reach your goals as we work to build a lasting relationship with you.
1
Understanding Your Circumstances:
In Step One, we develop a complete picture of your financial condition, resources, obligations, and plans. We seek comprehensive information about financial details, family composition, values, risk tolerance, and plans.
2
Identifying and Selecting Goals
In Step Two, we work on assessing your stated goals and the options for achieving them based on current resources. In this step we also prioritize goals and consider other recommended objectives.
3
Defining the Current Situation
In Step Three, we review your current financial practices, resources, and discipline, evaluate the effectiveness of this approach, and consider alternatives that may enhance your ability to meet your financial goals.
4
Developing Appropriate Recommendations
In Step Four, we will develop recommendations for changes in your current strategy to help you reach your goals. Recommendations may include options for asset protection, changes in investment approach, savings, and more.
5
Presenting Planning Recommendations
Step Five is when we review the recommendations with you and discuss the reasons for each one as part of an overall strategy. We will discuss projected outcomes and the steps necessary to implement any adopted strategies.
6
Implementing Accepted Strategies
In Step Six, we will collaborate with you on the implementation steps, including referrals to insurance agents, estate attorneys, and other professionals needed to execute the agreed-on solutions.
7
Monitoring and Updating the Plan
Step Seven is an ongoing process of monitoring the progress toward goals, revising goals and recommendations as appropriate, and maintaining up to date information about family circumstances and finances.
All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. There is no assurance that any investment strategy will be successful.
What is the AIF® Designation?
The Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) Designation is a professional certification that demonstrates an advisor or other person serving as an investment fiduciary has met certain requirements to earn and maintain the credential.
The purpose of the AIF® Designation is to assure that those responsible for managing or advising on investor assets have a fundamental understanding of the principles of fiduciary duty, the standards of conduct for acting as a fiduciary, and a process for carrying out fiduciary responsibility.
